Who and what is BEstrong

BEstrong is the online- and personal training company of Sigfus Fossdal and Ingibjorg Oladottir. Both are strength athletes with IAK personal training certificate. Sigfus also has a BA in psychology.

Sigfus is a pro strongman and has an elite powerlifting career. At the age of 13 he took a seminar in olympic lifting and from the age of 14 he started training and competing in powerlifting. He has 3 Nordic championships titles, 1 European WPF championship title and 2 WPF world championship titles along with countless records and smaller titles. He did a little strongmen along the way, but at the age of 32 he turned over to strongman and has focused on that since. He has podium finish at an elite competition and one local comps.  He is still improving at the age of 35 (trained for 2/3 of his life now) and is aiming for some big world level pressing next year on log and axle. He has coached powerlifters and strongmen and women on top national level, and for a while he was a head coach for a powerlifting team.

Ingibjorg has a backround in basketball and swimming and is a certified swimming coach a long with powerlifting. She has also learned more about training while pregnant and after birth and she has had diabetes since the age of 6 years old and has experience in how to handle training and eating with it. She started powerlifting in 2006 when she and Sigfus meet, and has been WPF European champion and WPC European champion in powerlifting along with haveing had the heaviest squat for a female in Iceland for years. Then in 2015, 2016 and 2017 she competed in strongwoman, even tough she is battling fibromyalgia and won in 2016 the title of Icelands strongest woman.

We started using the name BEstrong, not only as a reference to physical strength but to mental strength as well. A strong mental health is key to progress in training and in better life style. Our key focus is on better life, with healthier body and happier mind. We have a good background to help people get problem areas better. Work around bad back, shoulders or knees, but also to fix those areas as well.
